Les Halles Downtown enjoys a very central location between City hall, Wall Street and the Fulton Street Market. Its’ menu, similar to the original Les Halles, is casual French, inspired by the small Parisian brasseries and cafes. It includes many sandwiches and salads, in addition to seafood and entrees from the grill. For food of exceptional quality and taste, try Les Halles Downtown.
Gateau De Crabe A La Maximilien—Crab cake with cilantro, peppers and lemon
Salade D’Auvergne—Arugula, endive, Bleu d’Auvergne, roasted walnuts and apples; served with walnut vinaigrette
Gratinée Des Halles—Classic onion soup
Saumon Bordelaise—Grilled salmon with braised red cabbage and potato gratin; served with red wine shallot sauce
Choucroute Garnie—Smoked pork loin, white veal sausage, frankfurter, smoked pork breast, boiled potatoes and sauerkraut slow cooked in Pinot d’Alsace
Coq Au Vin—Organic rooster marinated in red wine, bacon, button mushrooms and pearl onions
They forgot an item and when I called to let them know of the mistake, they said they would credit my credit card (not exactly sure how they were planning to do that, but the manager said it was possible) but of course that never happened. The steak was good but I had ordered the steak salad, and the salad part was literally a few wilted arugula leaves. The mushroom goat cheese appetizer was mushy and slopped into the container and was definitely not memorable. Overall, pretty good steak but disappointing customer service and side dishes.

This was actually the worst dining experience I've had in NY, or anywhere for that matter. The place was very hot. The food was cold and not well cooked. Beans were grainy and the meat in the cassoulet was hard - the fat had not been cooked down. I am usually easy to please and I've never written a nasty review, but I'm afraid that Les Halles in downtown motivated me to do so.

As always the food (Tuna Steak and Steak frites) is awesome. Wish the in house dining service was a bit better but at least we have Seamless Web

I had just finished eating my dinner inside this restaurant a year or so ago and was getting ready to pay when an actual rat ran across the floor of the dining room. I attempted to alert the waiter because hey! I figured someone ought to know that there was a rat in the actual dining room of their restaurant. The waiter seemed not to care and in fact gave the distinct impression that he thought we were making it up to try to get our dinner for free (even though I didn't ask and wasn't expecting any such thing). I have never been back. Do not eat here! There are rats in the restaurant and the staff doesn't even care!

The macaroni seemed like a practical joke.

Used to be good and reasonable, but has gone way down hill. Definitely not worth the price with so many other options downtown.

Took WAY over an hour to deliver two blocks!

The greens in the salad were in very bad shape -- some were completely rotten. To add insult, they sent no dressing with the salad (not that I would have eaten the rotten lettuce anyway). This place seems to have a real quality control problem. The food I received should never have been served.

HORRIBLE! ordered the chicken sandwich and it was tasteless. the fries came soggy and greasy and did not resemble those in the restaurant at all

My steak arrived cold and I only live 3 blocks away from Les Halles. I also requested A1 which was ignored. They definitely need to improve on their service. Very disappointed.

The only consistently good restaurant in the financial district is finally on Seamless. Our orders have alway arrived quickly and the food is excellent. They even pack the frites in special containers so they stay crisp.

Very, very, very bad. Stone cold. Served in metal container with cardboard lid, which was upside down and leaking. All of the sides and main course were mixed together. Completely inedible
